Daniel Warren Jr. 1752-1833
Daniel was born to Daniel and Martha (Coolidge) on June 17, 1752 in Westborough, MA. He was a fifth-generation settler- his great-great grandfather John Warren and family arriving with Governor Winthrop aboard the “Arabella” to found the Massachusetts Bay colony in 1630. Daniel was a Minuteman- he answered the Lexington Alarm (Paul Revere’s ride) on April 19, 1775, and walked to Lexington, Concord, and Charlestown to fight the British. He walked back to Westborough, married his girlfriend Abigail Drury on May 18, 1775, then re-enlisted and was at the Battle of Bunker Hill on his 23rd birthday- June 17, 1775. He eventually moved with Abigail to Peterborough, NH in 1777, buying a 4-1/4 acre plot at a foreclosure auction, and soon bought the adjoining 130 acres. In 1790, he bought 100 acres in Dublin, NH, and built the house which we now have the honor of taking care of. He and Abigail had eight children between Peterborough and Dublin. Daniel sold the Dublin home to William Davis in 1826, after which we assume he moved in with his youngest son Nahum’s family on the property adjoining, until his death in 1833. Abigail then passed in 1840.
